Things on the Blink Design Studios wish list… (Just in case you were thinking about buying us a present)
1) Amazing OLED LCD keyboard – Optimus Popularis
This rather amazing (and real, yes you can buy it here for €797) keyboard by Art Lebedev Studio has programmable OLED keys so you can set it up for any language or usage such as Photoshop:
2) Awesome Celluon Magic Cube Laser virtual Projector Keyboard for iPhone / iPad / Android phones
Remember when the first magic cube virtual keyboard came out and it was a fab idea but only worked on a few things and then we all got iPads and iPhones and it didn’t work anymore? Well they made a new one! You can get hold of it here for £140.49.
3) Flexible USB keyboard – roll it up and take it away!
Such a simple but clever idea for a portable keyboard. A robust plastic roll up full keyboard that’s waterproof and washable as well as costing about a fiver on Amazon.
4) Turn your iPad into a VOIP phone!
Slot the iPad into this aluminium case and it turns your iPad into a VOIP phone – it’s got a handset, keyboard and looks snazzy as well as also acting as a protective case for the iPad. Also works for iPhones. Love this idea. Another one from Amazon.
5) Das Keyboard – for the uber geek
This keyboard is solidly made of quality materials… except printed letters… It’s completely blank so that firstly, nobody else can use your keyboard and secondly, people know how good at typing you are if they happen to be looking over your shoulder. We know it’s silly, but it makes us smile. Available here.
6) Razer Nostromo Expert Keypad
Small hand sized programmable keyboard for extra functions and general techie joy. Available from here.
7) Optimus Tactus keyboard – concept
Not yet available, but in the pipeline, is the new Optimus touch screen keyboard – no individual keys which means there are no restrictions on their shape and size. Any part of the keyboard surface can be programmed to perform any function or to display any images. This means it can be more than just customised, but be any sort of controller for the task at hand. You can read more about it on their blog. Hang on, let us just clear up the collective drool over it.
8 ) Aluminium iPad keyboard and case
Light, slick and useful. Great for typing away on the train or in the coffee shop. Shallow keys and a small size but still easy to use. You can also use the iPad vertically or horizontally which is neat.
9) Mini Wireless/USB Keyboard with Touchpad & Laser Pointer
It’s a bit small, and mostly a gimmick, but it has a laser pointer!
10) Optimus Tactus keyboard – concept
Great solid keyboard with programmable number pad making it the best of both worlds. The fact is also lights up blue also helped.
