You thought we wouldn't notice…

Not sure how I didn’t come across this site before… A mixed bag of content but some of it is truly eye opening…

The site is basically a collection of posts showing work they believe to be ripped off or stolen from another source.

You thought we wouldn’t notice

This one I found particularly surprising…

Emily Strange – Rosamond the Strange

I hope a lot of these are just mistakes – it is easy to accidentally reproduce something you saw once years ago if it made a impression – which good ideas often do. The Emily one just worries me as it is so close, text and all – that even if the likeness completely unintentional (the artist read ‘Nate the Great and the Lost List’ as a child seeming the most likely…) it should be credited as unintentional inspiration. Emily has developed a lot and become something quite separate and much more in depth than Rosamond, but even so, they ought to name and somehow thank (if not pay some royalties) to the original artist for sparking what has developed into such a successful character.
